Here are the facts:- Prior to her passing in June 2017, Joyce appoints co-host Daniel as her successor.
- The Power Hour carries on faithfully with Daniel at the helm until November 20, 2017 when Daniel announces that “GCN has made the decision to move our show” … “They've decided to move us to 3 to 5 central....” He states several times that “this was not our decision.”
- Meanwhile, GCN quietly posts a confusing press release stating that TPH is moving to an afternoon spot and welcomes a new host, Dr. Joanne Conaway. This press release is later “corrected” saying that “The Power Hour remains in the 7-10am time slot.” It does not mention anything about Daniel & Joyce's Power Hour airing at a new time or even existing for that matter.
- Dec 4, 2017: “The Power Hour” with Dr. Joanne Conaway airs in the time slot previously occupied by the real Power Hour, and she starts the show by saying she is "continuing where Joyce left off".. There is no mention of The real Power Hour until the 3rd hour when the subject was forced by a caller.
- The original Power Hour call in number and archives reside with this new version of The Power Hour and no longer with the rightful successor.
- No attempt has been made by GCN to clarify anything among the confusion. In fact, GCN's program director claims Dr Conaway's show took the name “Because we thought it would be less confusing for everyone.”
- This fake Power Hour show now features introductions by Dave vonKliest, Joyce's ex-husband and ex-cohost. “This is Dave vonKleist and you are listening to The Power Hour” and “you're listening to the all new Power Hour”.
- Our forum member, Eleanor White, spoke with Mr. vonKliest. He accepted her invitation to explain his viewpoint here on this forum, but has yet to post anything.
- Various links to The Power Hour still feature Joyce's image, but nearly all of them have been updated to show Dr Joanne Conaway's name along with Joyce's picture! It does seem that this is an attempt to imply a connection between Joyce and Dr. Conner.
- The real Power Hour, now “Power Hour Nation” in the eyes of GCN, is only available to many of us via the archives or radio replay, both in which the first six minutes of the show have been truncated. In addition to that, the commercials run longer and take up more of the show than they did when the show was in its original time slot.
Given all of this, one can deduce three possible scenarios:- Daniel Brigman went to GCN and said “Hey guys, can we broadcast in the afternoon? Also, can it be a 2 hour show instead of 3? And also, can we please change the name of the show?”
- Dave vonKleist has some kind of hold, legal or otherwise, over GCN, and has forced them into doing this.
- GCN, aka Ted Anderson along with Dr Conaway and probably Dave vonKleist also, recognized an opportunity to promote Youngevity Products under the guise of The Power Hour and have handled things thusly.
If scenario #1 were true, and we all know it isn't, that still shouldn't be any reason for GCN to handle this as they have. If scenario #2 were true, then shame on GCN & Dr. Conaway for playing along and not standing up for what is right. And then there's scenario #3, which is happening regardless of how or why. No matter how or why they got here, they are here: They have pirated the real Power Hour's time slot, show name, and call-in number, archives, and even Joyce's image. These are not the good guys. And this brings me to my point. It's pretty obvious that their motivation is money/selling Youngevity products. It's also pretty obvious that they have very little moral fortitude. With this in mind, I think the only hope for progress is to hit them where it hurts – the money bag.... and we do this by shining a little light on their deceptions: Any place that allows for comments, we should do our part and clarify what is and what is not. ….Especially on sites that have Joyce's picture with Dr. Conaway's name. Yes, we should keep our cool and attempt to be polite, (Thank you Eleanor) but hey, let's call a duck a duck. THANK YOU, Donny, for setting forth the facts so concisely! Just a couple of thoughts: 1. It may be that Dave vonKleist never received my two emails giving links to this forum and Daniel's powerhournation.com. As a target of organized stalking for 37 years now, believe me, critical emails, phone messages, and snail mail (and expensive parcels) often are blocked. However, Dave is easy to contact through a contact form on his web site, for anyone who might like to invite him again. www.davevonkleist.com2. As to being polite, as long as we are polite, we have the moral high ground. We would all love to vent, but doing that gives the opponent the excuse to slew the conversation over to our barbs, and away from the real issues. It is VERY important, in accordance with the principle of innocent until proven guilty, to not ascribe a motive to the opposition unless the motive is provable beyond any doubt. In other words, describe the Conaway group's overt, objectively observable behaviour, fine, but at this early point, avoid speculating as to why they do what they do. There is plenty of time later on, once the Conaway group responds, to get into motive. Again, all this is to maintain moral high ground. 3. I hope it's just a holiday lull, but I'm very concerned about the tiny number of listeners who are apparently interested in this issue. The reason I am passionate about this is that thousands of fellow organized stalking targets world-wide have had businesses they run smashed to pieces by EXACTLY the kind of crap Daniel is having to endure. EXACTLY. This is a real red flag for me! Anyway, praying larger NUMBERS of listeners will begin to share ideas, and I hope especially, will start to pick through the TPH past guest list and appeal for ideas and help there. |

Thank you, Eleanor. You are correct, I should not speculate motive. Regardless, they are doing what they are doing with little to no resistance. My point is that we should be providing resistance at every opportunity. If someone is aggressively coming at you with a baseball bat, you take action to defend yourself. You don't have the luxury of giving them the benefit of the doubt. If, at every opportunity, we can make it known that the show currently being labeled and marketed as "The Power Hour" is, in fact, not the real deal, we could see some progress. People are being deceived. Fringe listeners or not, people are falling for it, and mostly because many have no clue the real Power Hour is still around. On one of the first Fake Power Hour broadcasts, one caller seemingly bought it hook line & sinker; he was an older gentleman, he commented that he used to listen to Joyce & thanked Dr. Conaway for continuing the Power Hour. More disturbing is the seemingly lack of outrage. But that may be simply because people don't know what to do, or where to gather. The low turnout here is very concerning. I would guess the majority of people on the forum at powerhournation.com aren't very active. And many that receive the email blast likely just skim the headlines and may not make it to the Action Items section. It's difficult to get the word out. I guess one of us could call in and give this forum a shout-out on air.  |

Eleanor replying: The reason, I think, for lack of awareness is that Daniel can't talk about this on air without jeopardizing his presence on GCN. Kind of the way citizens can't criticize a rather aggressive cultural group these days. Donny talking: "It's difficult to get the word out. I guess one of us could call in and give this forum a shout-out on air." Eleanor replying: Personally, I would (and will) listen to Daniel over the next little while, and if it seems he's ready for such a call to be aired on his Power Hour, then consider doing that. But so far, it seems we're operating under Daniel's expressed wish to "just focus on us," meaning Daniel's legacy Power Hour group, which I take as hinting he did not want to get into the Conaway group's activ- ities on the air. That's his choice, after all. I would feel a lot more comfortable calling other shows to advertise this forum, shows where the host is known to be a Joyce Riley supporter. Here's what I just sent to Pharmacist Ben Fuchs, of whose GCN program we've been loyal listeners for many years.

Aileen and I (Listeners Forest & 'Eileen'/Aileen from Falling Waters, West Virginia) have been long time listeners of your wonderful "The Bright Side" radio program for many years and have even called in a few times over the years, though not exactly in the league of "Underwear man" and other frequent callers. I suppose though we could be called "devotees" of your work, for I just checked my Pharmacist Ben folder of downloaded programs which I download and archive almost daily. The earliest one there was from May 1st of 2012! yes, that's Twenty Twelve, though I believe we listened for some time even before I began downloading and archiving the programs.
We were close friends with Dennis Ketterer who was the weatherman on several Washington, DC Stations years ago as well as with the wonderful Kelly Spinner, who was a morning talk show host on a local station serving the Tri-State area from just over the PA line from near where we now live in Falling Waters, West Virginia. They both have told me how arbitrary firings and changes can be in the TV and Radio industries. However, somehow I always thought GCN was, well, "different."
We're not sure if you're aware of what's been going on with "The Power Hour" founded by the late Joyce Riley, but Joyce's wonderful program was actually how we came upon your own broadcast so many years ago because your program came right after her three hour slot on GCN. I'm going to copy a succinct encapsulation of the facts of what's going on, and having also been devotees of (the late) Joyce's program, I can tell you that without any doubt she openly announced that she was turned the program over to David Brigman upon her cancer coming into Stage 4. This was implemented, first with David co-hosting the program with her for some time, again, repeatedly and unequivocally announcing that she was turning the program over to him. Subsequently after her passing, David Brigman assumed that calling for some time, that is, until what is chronicled below within the text copied and pasted from a forum which has arisen following thee debacle which you will read below, again, copied and pasted verbatim;

Well, friend Pharmacist Ben, I wanted to let you know of this for several reasons. First, with you being what I would consider an active promoter of Youngevity, this MUST be resolved, or it will be a nail in the coffin of Youngevity so far as we are concerned, and will be brought up anytime the topic of Youngevity products comes up. Just another "MLM" setup taking a bad turn as so many have?"
Secondly, you are a talk show host there at GCN, and though a "fair-haired-boy" so to speak with respect to Youngevity and with that, likely a fair-haired-boy regarding GCN, et al, Ken Anderson, etc., I've heard it said that, "A dog who will bring a bone, will also take a bone. As mentioned at the outset above, I was really taken aback to see such shenanigans at GCN which we'd formerly viewed as a respected and patriot institution.
Lastly, it's an ancient Catholic and Christian principle that in the long run it's impossible to achieve positive outcomes from an act or activity which is objectively wrong. With that being a truism, just keep it in the back of your mind and see how GCN and Youngevity are blessed or not blessed, depending on this being corrected or swept under the rug.

RE CALLING IN TO DANIEL ABOUT THIS FORUM
A couple of thoughts:
1. We should be able to do that as long
as we speak about "the unofficial Power
Hour forum" without any reference to the
Conaway show.
2. It might be a good idea, before doing
that, to email Daniel privately and ask
him if introducing this forum on the air
would be OK.
