First served a Cease and Desist Order on Jan 4th by the state of Texas for "the selling of unlicensed securities". Of course this alone set a ripple of panic through the Bitconnect community. Then North Carolina Securities Division served the platform with yet another cease and desist letter, ordering the company to temporarily suspend its operations within the state. That was apparently all it took for Bitconnect.co to pull the plug.
Bitconnect is shutting down the lending platform, but word is they will be staying open, still offering services and supporting the Bitconnect crypto currency.
I have not been able to log into my Bitconnect account since word of the shutdown got out. I assume their servers are overwhelmed with people trying to transfer out their money.
